NAIROBI, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Kenya will send one female triathlete to the forthcoming Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games following the qualifiers held on the country's coast over the weekend.
Aisha Nasser Baksh booked her ticket to the Games after winning the trial staged in Kilifi in one hour 21 minutes and 54 seconds, ahead of Vivian Hillier from Mombasa (1:32:06) and Megan Irungu (1:32:06).
"To represent Kenya is actually a dream come true. I have never travelled to represent my country. This is a debut I will be making, on a global stage," Nasser Baksh told reporters as she joined the Kenyan camp in Nairobi.
Hillier also travelled to Nairobi to aid the sole Kenyan representative train.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games is scheduled to be held in Birmingham, Britain from July 28 to August 8. ■
