OUAGADOUGOU, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- The ruling junta in Burkina Faso decided to lift the curfew and reopen land borders, according to official statements.

In a statement published on Wednesday evening, the president of the Patriotic Movement for Safeguard and Restoration (MPSR), Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, announced the lifting of the curfew imposed during the coup in January.

However, for security reasons, festive gatherings are prohibited after midnight from Monday to Thursday and after 2 a.m. from Friday to Sunday, starting Wednesday throughout the national territory.
