BEIJING, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted Fiji region at 1721 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 540.8 km, was initially determined to be at 21.17 degrees south latitude and 178.65 degrees west longitude. ■
