SINGAPORE, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Singapore will be progressively deploying 660 new electric buses from the end of 2026, part of the city-state's plan to transition its public bus fleet to cleaner energy, the Land Transport Authority said Wednesday in a statement.
By 2030, half of the country's public bus fleet will be electric buses, and the entire fleet will run on cleaner energy by 2040, it said.
Key features of the new electric buses include no steps along the main passageway, green and red lighting on staircases in double-deck buses, and batteries that last longer. ■
