CAIRO, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Tuesday urged the United States and Iran to show maximum flexibility and seek a political settlement to avoid renewed military operations.
Sisi made the remarks during a joint press conference in Cairo with visiting Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar, urging the United States and Iran to "create space for understanding and dialogue" to reach a political consensus addressing their core demands and concerns.
"Egypt urges both the United States and Iran to demonstrate the greatest possible flexibility at this juncture to find common ground to resolve the ongoing conflict," Sisi said.
He also pledged that Egypt would continue working with regional and international partners to de-escalate tensions and reach a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
The remarks came amid renewed U.S.-Iran tensions, with Washington threatening further military action against Tehran, while Iran has signaled readiness to resume negotiations if its demands are met. ■
