BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Cai Qi on Monday urged the full promotion of the guiding principles from the fifth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat, made the remarks at a mobilization meeting on a lecture program for promoting the guiding principles.
The sound study and implementation of the plenum's guiding principles are a major political task for the Party at present and over the coming period, Cai said.
The 20th Central Committee of the CPC convened its fifth plenary session in Beijing from October 26 to 29. The plenum saw the adoption of the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Certain Major Issues concerning Persevering with Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance.
At Monday's meeting, Cai stressed that, based on the resolution, efforts should be made to comprehensively publicize the achievements in exercising full and rigorous Party self-governance since the Party's 18th National Congress in 2012, the importance and urgency of persevering with full and rigorous Party self-governance, and the guiding philosophy, principles, strategic tasks and major measures for related work.
He also said all arrangements for full and rigorous Party self-governance should be implemented with concrete actions, and that all work regarding the Party's self-supervision and self-governance should be carried out with higher standards and more effective measures.
He called for concrete actions to set the stage for the successful convening of the Party's 21st National Congress, scheduled for the second half of 2027.
The meeting was presided over by Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee. ■
