GUANGZHOU, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- China and Indonesia completed their "Sharp Knife 2026" joint army counter-terrorism training with a ceremony in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, on Monday.

This joint training session, which began on Oct. 27, was a planned military exchange between the two militaries for 2026, aimed at improving their combat-oriented training capabilities.

During the training, troops from the two countries were organized into mixed groups and jointly completed specialized sub-training, tactical coordination and comprehensive drills.

As part of the comprehensive drills, the troops worked closely together in key exercises including land- and water-based rescue and coordinated clearance operations.

The training also featured thematic seminars, weapon and equipment displays, sports competitions and cultural exchanges.

At the ceremony, joint training guidance groups from both sides delivered speeches and presented certificates to outstanding participants.

As the third edition of the Sharp Knife joint training series between the two countries' armies, the latest exercise is expected to further strengthen traditional friendship and military exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia, as well as contribute to regional peace and stability. ■
