BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- China's top diplomat Wang Yi held talks with Musaad bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Saudi Arabia's Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, and National Security Advisor, in Beijing on Monday.
Al-Aiban handed over a letter from Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister, addressed to Chinese President Xi Jinping, on the development of bilateral relations and issues of common interest.
Wang said China views its relations with Saudi Arabia as a priority in its Middle East diplomacy. Under the strategic guidance of the two countries' top leaders, China-Saudi Arabia relations have maintained a sound momentum of growth and become a stabilizing force in the region, he added.
They exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Wang stated that regional countries should work through consultations to foster a new regional security architecture that serves the long-term interests of peoples in the region. China stands ready to communicate and coordinate with all parties, including Saudi Arabia, to play a constructive role in helping the region emerge from turmoil at an early date and achieve lasting stability, he added. ■
