SEOUL, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- A public opinion poll showed on Monday that disapproval of South Korean President Lee Jae Myung's state administration outpaced approval, while the ruling and opposition parties were locked in a tight race for party support.

Lee's approval rating stood at 45.6 percent, and his disapproval rating reached 53.8 percent, according to computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) by domestic pollster Flower Research.

The automated response system (ARS) survey showed a wider gap, where the approval rating was 39.4 percent, and the disapproval rating was 59.7 percent, marking a 20.3 percentage point difference.

In the CATI results, support for the ruling liberal Democratic Party fell 0.7 percentage points from a week earlier to 41.2 percent last week, while the conservative opposition People Power Party's approval score slipped 0.9 percentage points to 35.8 percent.

The ARS poll showed the Democratic Party dropping 1.6 percentage points to 38.1 percent, while the People Power Party remained unchanged at 41.9 percent. ■
