DOHA, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Qatar Gas Transport Company said Sunday that its liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Al Mayeda was struck by unidentified objects while transiting the Arabian Gulf on Friday evening, with no injuries or environmental damage reported.
The company said in a statement that the vessel remained in safe operational condition and the impact of the incident was still being assessed.
The company was coordinating directly with the vessel, its crew and relevant maritime security authorities in the region to ensure the crew's safety and monitor developments, it added, without specifying the nature or origin of the objects that struck the vessel. ■
