TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Two Iranian fishermen were injured following a drone attack by the U.S. "enemy" on two fishing boats in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday morning, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.
The fishing boats were attacked 14 miles (about 22.5 km) south of Iran's southern Qeshm Island, the report said, adding that the vessels belonged to the island's locals.
It added that those wounded in the strike were transferred to the island, and another two fishermen, who had gone missing following the attack, were rescued after a search operation.
Iran tightened its grip on the strait on Feb. 28, barring safe passage of vessels belonging to or affiliated with Israel and the United States following their joint strikes on Iranian territory. ■
