BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Leading Party members of China's top political advisory body met on Friday to study and discuss plans to implement the guiding principles from the just-concluded fifth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

The meeting of the leading Party members' group of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was presided over by the group's secretary, Wang Huning, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

During the meeting, it was stated that the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Certain Major Issues concerning Persevering with Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance, adopted by the plenum, provides an in-depth analysis of the situation and tasks facing Party building both at present and in the period to come, and makes strategic arrangements for persevering with full and rigorous Party self-governance.

The meeting emphasized that Party organizations at all levels of the CPPCC National Committee must make thoroughly studying and implementing the plenum's guiding principles a major political task, and take strengthening the Party politically as the overarching principle to advance Party building within the CPPCC on all fronts.

The meeting also called for strictly practicing democratic centralism, strengthening the political and organizational functions of Party organizations, putting in consistent and sustained efforts to improve conduct, and ensuring that the requirements for persevering with full and rigorous Party self-governance are fully implemented. ■
