SANAA, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi group on Friday threatened to target what it described as a Saudi military command network overseeing operations across government-held areas of Yemen.
In a statement on social media platform X, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said the group had obtained information about the "operational management and field military command" of Saudi forces in Yemen.
Without providing evidence, Sarea said the network included command and support structures and operational bases in the southern port city of Aden, the oil-rich provinces of Shabwa, Marib and Hadramout, the eastern province of Al-Mahrah and the Socotra archipelago.
The claims could not be independently verified.
The spokesperson threatened that the Houthis would continue to "pursue and target" Saudi military personnel and facilities, warning civilians to stay away.
Saudi Arabia and Yemen's internationally recognized government did not respond immediately.
The statement comes as fighting has intensified between the Houthis and government forces backed by the Saudi-led coalition, alongside Saudi airstrikes in Yemen and Houthi missile and drone attacks on government-held areas and targets inside Saudi Arabia.
Yemen has been mired in conflict since late 2014, when the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa and much of the north, prompting the Saudi-led coalition to intervene in 2015 in support of the government. ■
