BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), China's top anti-corruption body, on Friday convened to study the guiding principles from the fifth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.

Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CCDI, presided over the meeting, urging disciplinary inspection and supervision authorities to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles from this plenum.

They should adopt higher standards and more concrete measures to promote high-quality development of the disciplinary inspection and supervision work, and persevere with full and rigorous Party self-governance to provide strong guarantees for building a great country and advancing national rejuvenation on all fronts through Chinese modernization, Li stressed.

Speaking about the resolution on persevering with full and rigorous Party self-governance adopted at the plenary session, Li said it serves as a programmatic document for continuously advancing the great new project of Party building in the new era, and called for a full, accurate and comprehensive grasp of its principles.

Li urged disciplinary inspection and supervision bodies to make sustained efforts to strengthen political oversight, implement the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving work conduct, strictly enforce Party discipline and rules, take integrated steps against corruption, and promote the regularized, law-based and standardized development of discipline inspection and supervision work.

The fifth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee was held from Monday to Thursday this week. ■
