RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Brazil international defender Danilo Luiz da Silva has signed a contract extension with Flamengo through December 2028, the Rio de Janeiro club said on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old former Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus full-back was previously under contract until the end of next season.
"The first feeling is one of having fulfilled my duty," Danilo told the club's official website. "Since I arrived at Flamengo nearly two years ago, the objective was to win important trophies, to make Flamengo's history even richer."
Danilo has made 57 appearances and scored six goals since joining Flamengo in January 2025.
He scored the decisive goal in Flamengo's 1-0 win over Palmeiras in last year's Copa Libertadores final. ■
