MANILA, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- A total of 422 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Saudi Arabia have been repatriated as of Tuesday, with about 350 more awaiting scheduled flights amid disruptions at Riyadh airport, local media said, citing Philippine authorities.
Of the 422 repatriated workers, 414 are OFWs while eight are dependents. Saudi Arabia leads as the top OFW destination, hosting nearly a million Filipino workers, according to the Philippines' Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
The King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh was previously targeted in attacks causing multiple deaths and injuries, which prompted Saudi Arabian authorities to temporarily suspend airport operations. The airport partially reopened on Sunday. ■
