ISLAMABAD, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces killed nine militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in the country's southwest Balochistan province, the military said on Wednesday.
The operations were conducted on Monday in Kachhi and Wadh districts, targeting militants allegedly linked to the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military's media wing, said in a statement.
In Kachhi district, security forces raided a militant hideout, killing seven militants after an intense exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site, the statement said.
In a separate operation in Wadh district, security forces intercepted the movement of militants and killed two of them following an exchange of fire.
Sanitization operations are underway in the areas to eliminate any remaining militants, the ISPR said. ■
