SYDNEY, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Sydney police have arrested three men in the city's west following a major methamphetamine bust as part of an investigation into an alleged drug supply syndicate.

Police said on Wednesday that detectives from an organized crime strike force on Oct. 15 executed a search warrant at a property in Glendenning, 36 km northwest of central Sydney, where they seized 45.4 liters of liquid methamphetamine, 5.6 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 48 rounds of ammunition.

According to police, the seized methamphetamine had a combined estimated street value of 15.4 million Australian dollars (10.8 million U.S. dollars).

A 38-year-old man was arrested at the time and charged with supplying a prohibited drug in greater than large commercial quantities, which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, as well as possessing ammunition without a license.

Two more men, both aged 46, were arrested on Tuesday by officers executing subsequent search warrants, during which police seized an additional 88 grams of methamphetamine and located an inactive clandestine laboratory.

One of the 46-year-old men was charged with supplying a prohibited drug in greater than large commercial quantities, while the other was charged with the lesser offense of supplying a prohibited drug in greater than indictable, but less than commercial, quantities and supplying an unregistered pistol.

All three men were refused bail. ■
