ISLAMABAD, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Four new cases of mpox have been reported in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bringing the total number of infections in the province to 18, the provincial health department said on Tuesday.
Peshawar, the provincial capital, has reported the highest number of cases, with five infections, while one death from the disease has been recorded so far, the department said.
Symptoms of mpox include fever, headache, body aches and skin rashes or blisters.
The department advised people to avoid close contact with infected individuals to reduce the risk of transmission. ■
