SINGAPORE, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Singapore on Tuesday launched a suite of initiatives to help companies adopt artificial intelligence (AI), including programs to support industry leaders, small businesses and sector-wide adoption, Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) said in a statement.

Under the Champions of AI program, EnterpriseSG and other government agencies will help participating companies develop long-term AI transformation roadmaps, access expertise and solutions, and strengthen workforce skills.

The program targets Singapore-based companies committed to making AI a core driver of growth and undertaking enterprise-wide transformation. It will start with 24 companies across various industries, with more to join progressively.

For small- and medium-sized enterprises, a series of workshops on agentic AI has been introduced. More than 280 small businesses have participated in a pilot to apply agentic AI tools in marketing, sales and customer service. More workshops will be rolled out next month and scaled further in 2027.

Meanwhile, the Catalytic AI Solutions initiative aims to accelerate AI adoption across entire sectors, starting with advanced manufacturing, trade and logistics.

Separately, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research launched the Materials Accelerator for Research, Venture and Enterprise Launchpad, backed by about 150 million Singapore dollars (117 million U.S. dollars), to bridge the gap between research and commercial deployment.

The initiative will combine AI models with automated laboratories to accelerate the discovery, testing and commercialization of advanced materials.

"AI is helping researchers identify promising new materials faster, but turning these into materials that can be synthesized, validated and manufactured at scale remains a challenge," the statement said. ■
