SINGAPORE, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Singapore and New Zealand will strengthen cooperation on electricity market regulation and low-carbon energy technologies under a new agreement between their energy regulators, the two countries' authorities said on Tuesday.

The Energy Market Authority of Singapore and New Zealand's Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko signed a memorandum of arrangements on the sidelines of the Singapore International Energy Week.

Under the partnership, the agencies will organize staff training, joint research, workshops and seminars, and exchange regulatory expertise. They will also explore high-level dialogues and cooperation through regional and international platforms.

New Zealand's experience in operating an electricity system with a high share of renewable energy will provide insights for Singapore as it decarbonizes its power sector, the statement said. ■
