TOKYO, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks rebounded Tuesday as recent concerns over the profitability and sustainability of massive artificial intelligence investments eased after U.S. AI company Anthropic publicly filed its prospectus for an initial public offering (IPO) on Monday.

The benchmark Nikkei stock index, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, ended up 1,078.72 points, or 1.73 percent, from Monday at 63,268.37.

The broader Topix index, meanwhile, finished 24.39 points, or 0.61 percent, higher at 3,997.37.

On the top-tier Prime Market, nonferrous metal, electric appliance and bank issues were notable gainers.

The Nikkei index rose more than 2 percent at one point after the prospectus for Anthropic's IPO, which could become the largest stock market debut in history, showed solid growth in sales and customer numbers, analysts said. Some cautioned, however, that the rally may be short-lived.

A drop in West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures also supported the stock market. ■
