BEIJING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Beijing Guoan came from behind to lead Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors but had to settle for a 2-2 home draw against the South Korean side in the third round of the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Elite league stage on Tuesday.
Jeonbuk made a flying start, taking the lead in the second minute when Bruno Mota headed home a cross.
Both sides then created chances following defensive errors, but neither was able to capitalize until Jeremy Dudziak equalized for Guoan in the 34th minute.
Wang Gang put the hosts ahead seven minutes after the restart, completing the turnaround, but Jeonbuk drew level in the 64th minute when Lee Yeong-jae volleyed home following a corner.
Elsewhere, Chinese Super League side Shanghai Port suffered a 3-2 defeat to Vietnam's Cong An Ha Noi.
The results leave Guoan third in the 16-team East Zone standings with seven points from three matches, while Shanghai Port sits eighth with four points from one win, one draw and one loss.
The top eight teams from each zone advance to the round of 16, with five rounds of league-phase matches remaining.
Both Chinese clubs return to action on November 3, when Guoan visits Thailand's Port FC and Shanghai Port travels to Australia to face Newcastle Jets. ■
