RIGA, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- The NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia is staging its largest force deployment exercise from Oct. 26 to 28, the Latvian Defense Ministry has announced.
Around 3,000 troops and 1,000 pieces of military equipment will participate in the Resolute Reforger 2026 drills in eastern Latvia.
During the exercise, brigade units are set to perform force deployment, supply, command and communication tasks, as well as enhance interoperability with the Latvian army.
The exercise aims to test the brigade's ability to move, supply and coordinate units over long distances. Colonel David Brassard, commander of the NATO Multinational Brigade, said the exercise would provide an opportunity for the brigade to demonstrate its ability to deploy combat-ready forces over long distances, sustain them in the field, and maintain effective command, control and communications throughout the exercise. ■
