MONTE CARLO, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 2026 Tennis Europe Junior Masters concluded at the Monte-Carlo Country Club with four young talents claiming under-14 and under-16 titles at Europe's season-ending junior tennis showpiece, which also marked the tournament debut of AI-powered match analysis technology through a new official partnership.

Featuring 32 top-ranked players across boys' and girls' U14 and U16 categories, the annual tournament is hosted by the Monegasque Tennis Federation at the iconic clay-court venue. Its list of distinguished alumni includes Grand Slam champions Rafael Nadal and Kim Clijsters, as well as top tour stars Alexander Zverev and Belinda Bencic.

In the boys' U16 final, fourth-seeded Blazej Krzysko of Poland powered past Hungary's Mark Jony 6-4, 6-1 in just 68 minutes. The Polish teenager did not drop a set across his four matches, becoming the first player from Poland to win a Junior Masters title.

In the girls' U16 category, Lydia Panagiotidou of Greece defeated Serbia's Zana Peric 6-2, 6-3 to lift the trophy. The pair arrived in Monte Carlo as joint leaders of the Race to Monte-Carlo standings, and Panagiotidou took control from the opening games to seal the straight-set victory in 80 minutes in their first career meeting.

The boys' U14 crown went to Russia's Rafael Papoian, who withstood a spirited second-set fightback from Bulgaria's Bruno Dzhenev. Papoian dominated the opening set 6-2 and built a 3-0 lead in the second, before Dzhenev rallied to win four of the next five games. The Russian regained his composure in the crucial games, breaking serve to close out the match and cap a standout season.

In the girls' U14 final, 13-year-old Mariia Kocherzhenko made Ukrainian tennis history by beating Italy's Olivia Serena Conticello 7-6, 6-4, becoming the first Ukrainian player ever to win the event. She received special support in the stands from Ukrainian WTA star Marta Kostyuk, who was a finalist at the same tournament back in 2015.

First launched in 1996, the Tennis Europe Junior Masters stands as the most prestigious season-ending competition for European junior players in the U14 and U16 age groups, and is widely recognized as a breeding ground for future professional tennis stars.

Ahead of the four-day competition, Tennis Europe announced its collaboration with Orange Lion Sports, which provided full live streaming of all matches integrated with its proprietary Smartshot AI tennis system.

The Smartshot platform captures every rally in real time, generates automated highlight videos and delivers multi-dimensional data insights to support player training and match analysis. It also served as the presenting partner of the 2026 Race to Monte-Carlo rankings, the season-long points race that determines qualification for the Junior Masters. Currently deployed on over 500 courts worldwide, the technology delivers professional-grade performance at an accessible price point.

"We are excited to partner with Orange Lion Sports, and to showcase their advanced technology at our most prestigious junior tennis event. Tennis Europe is committed to assisting players and coaches in exploring new technologies and data-integrated tools that can help with visibility, analysis and training," said Tennis Europe President Henrik Thorsoe Pedersen.

Simon Huang, Executive Vice President for AI Innovation & Global Business at Orange Lion Sports, said the partnership marks an important step in bringing elite technical resources to the next generation of European players.

"We are delighted to see AI being used to help shape the future of emerging athletes. Our goal is to make professional-grade technology accessible to more players, especially the younger generation. Technology should never overshadow the game, it should quietly strengthen it and that is exactly what we aim to do," Huang said. ■
