ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Japan's Daiki Hashimoto secured his fourth consecutive men's all-around world title here on Thursday, while China's Yang Haonan claimed silver at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
Hashimoto totaled 85.998 points across six apparatus to finish ahead of Yang on 84.199. Britain's Joe Fraser took bronze with 83.531.
The Tokyo Olympic all-around champion entered the final rotation with a narrow lead but delivered 14.766 on horizontal bar to seal victory by 1.799 points. He added the Rotterdam crown to his world all-around titles from 2022, 2023 and 2025.
For Yang, a consistent performance brought a second medal of the championships after he helped China win team bronze on Tuesday.
China's only representative in the 24-man final, Yang had qualified sixth with 83.464. He started on pommel horse and worked through rings, vault and parallel bars before reaching 70.499 after his fifth apparatus, horizontal bar, to sit third with one rotation remaining.
A closing floor routine worth 13.700 lifted him to second overall, 0.668 points ahead of Fraser.
Yang's highest score came on parallel bars, where he earned 14.566, while scores of 14.400 on vault and 14.100 on rings also helped build his medal challenge.
Fraser, who qualified eighth, matched Yang's parallel bars score and earned 14.033 on pommel horse on his way to bronze.
Reigning Olympic all-around champion Shinnosuke Oka of Japan, the leading qualifier, finished eighth with 82.165 after scoring 12.700 on vault and 13.333 on horizontal bar.
Daniel Marinov placed fourth with 83.297, followed by Colombia's Angel Barajas on 83.232 and Britain's Jake Jarman on 82.865.
China's team bronze earlier in the week came with a total of 249.193 and secured the country a men's team berth at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Japan and silver medalist Russia also qualified.
The championships continue with the women's all-around final on Friday, followed by apparatus finals over the weekend. ■
