LA PAZ, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Four minors and an adult were killed in two separate violent incidents over the weekend in Bolivia's southwestern Potosi department, including an apparent murder-suicide and a double stabbing, police said Monday.
The first incident occurred in the community of Colquechaca, where a 22-year-old man detonated an explosive device, killing himself and his two children, aged 1 and 4, whom he had taken to a remote location, according to departmental police commander Roger Villazon.
Investigators found a suicide note in which the man referred to relationship problems with his partner, Villazon said. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The second incident occurred Sunday night in the municipality of Llallagua in northern Potosi, where a 9-year-old boy and a 15-year-old were fatally stabbed.
The suspect, a 24-year-old man, fled the scene after the attack. Police launched a search operation early Monday before locating and arresting the suspect, regional police commander Luis Meneses said.
The suspect was taken into custody for questioning and further investigation by prosecutors, he added. ■
