BEIJING, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted South Sandwich Islands Region at 1745 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 96.5 km, was initially determined to be at 56.28 degrees south latitude and 26.63 degrees west longitude. ■
