BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Midfielder Leandro Paredes was named in a provisional Boca Juniors squad on Sunday for its Copa Sudamericana semifinal second leg against Vasco da Gama.
Vasco will take a 1-0 lead into Tuesday's match at Rio's Maracana Stadium, with the winner on aggregate to face either Atletico Mineiro or Montevideo City Torque in the final.
Paredes has not played since suffering a grade-two hamstring tear in Boca's 2-2 draw with Instituto Cordoba on October 9.
The 32-year-old Argentina international missed last Tuesday's first leg in Buenos Aires and was also absent in Boca's 2-1 home win over Talleres in Argentina's top flight on Friday.
Boca is aiming for its first continental trophy since its Recopa Sudamerica triumph in 2008 while Vasco last lifted a regional title in 2000 when it won the now-defunct Copa Mercosur. ■
