BEIRUT, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon and Oman signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in sustainable agriculture, fisheries, and food security, and expand trade opportunities for Lebanese agricultural products, Lebanon's National News Agency reported Monday.
Lebanese Agriculture Minister Nizar Hani signed the deal with Oman's Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Saud bin Hamoud al-Habsi during a visit to Oman.

It also covers water resource management, adaptation to drought and climate change, plant and animal health, food safety, and aquaculture development.
The two sides will also seek to promote joint investment, increase agricultural trade, and facilitate access for agricultural and food products to their respective markets, creating new opportunities for farmers, producers and investors.
During the visit, Hani also met with agriculture ministers from Iraq, Tunisia, Libya, and Sudan to discuss expanding agricultural cooperation. ■
