AMMAN, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy's pavilions at the 62nd Annual International Diplomatic Bazaar in Amman drew crowds of visitors on Saturday, offering a taste of Chinese culture through traditional food, handicrafts and other cultural products.
Gong Anmin, Charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Jordan, highlighted the annual event as a vital platform for advancing charitable causes while deepening cultural exchanges between China and Jordan.
The two Chinese pavilions drew large crowds eager to sample authentic dishes and explore Chinese heritage.
Zain Alrazem, a Jordanian visitor who purchased a silk round fan, bookmarks, earrings and other accessories, praised the products for reflecting the richness of Chinese heritage and traditions through their distinctive artistic details.
After tasting jiaozi, or Chinese dumplings, and a cup of bubble tea, Jordanian citizen Victoria Shaanini said her appreciation for Chinese culture and cuisine had grown through these experiences, noting that learning about other cultures helps foster mutual respect and broaden cultural understanding.
Inaugurated by Princess Basma bint Talal, the annual charity event brings together scores of foreign embassies accredited to Jordan. Proceeds from this year's bazaar will go to Mabarrat Um Al-Hussein, a Jordanian charity founded in 1958 that provides care, education and rehabilitation for orphaned children and those facing difficult circumstances. ■
