ULAN BATOR, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The average retail price of AI-92, Mongolia's most widely used gasoline grade, rose by about 550 Mongolian tugriks (about 0.15 U.S. dollars) per liter on Monday to 3,600 tugriks per liter amid an ongoing fuel shortage.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources said the price increase was driven by rising import fuel prices.

Authorities have linked the fuel shortages to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and tensions in the Middle East, which have contributed to instability in global energy markets and affected fuel supplies. ■
