RIYADH, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced early Sunday that it had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile and a drone launched by the Houthi group toward Saudi Arabia.
According to brief statements posted by coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Malki on social platform X, the missile was intercepted over Al-Kharj Governorate, south of Riyadh, while the drone was intercepted in eastern Saudi Arabia.
The coalition has vowed to respond firmly to a Houthi attack targeting a passenger terminal at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday, which resulted in deaths and injuries. ■
