BERLIN, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich missed the chance to move top of the Bundesliga after drawing 2-2 at Augsburg on Saturday, where Robin Fellhauer scored the fastest goal in league history after just eight seconds.
Manuel Neuer miscontrolled the ball following kickoff before his attempted clearance struck Fellhauer, who collected the rebound and rolled it into an empty net.
Bayern dominated possession but struggled to break down Augsburg's defense. Harry Kane headed over before striking the crossbar from close range shortly before halftime, while Juma Bah missed an opportunity to double the hosts' advantage.
Luis Diaz had an effort disallowed for offside early in the second half, but Bayern eventually equalized when Ismael Saibari converted Kane's pass in the 55th minute.
Augsburg regained the lead nine minutes later. Neuer failed to hold Calvin Brackelmann's shot, allowing Rodrigo Ribeiro to turn home the rebound.
Bayern continued to press, with further efforts from Serge Gnabry and Diaz ruled out for offside before substitute Nathaniel Brown converted another Kane assist to make it 2-2 in the 80th minute.
Gnabry then struck the post and later hit the crossbar deep into stoppage time, although the latter effort was ruled out for offside.
"We had our chances. There were several goals ruled out for offside, and we made some mistakes when conceding. That's how you end up drawing 2-2. That's football," Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said.
Bayern remain second with 11 points, two behind leader Borussia Dortmund, while Augsburg sits fifth with eight.
Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen climbed to fourth with a 4-3 victory at Mainz, while Stuttgart won 2-0 at Paderborn. Hamburg earned a 3-2 victory at Hoffenheim, while Union Berlin earned its first league win of the season, beating Elversberg 1-0. RB Leipzig thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0 to secure its third victory of the campaign. ■
