BEIRUT/JERUSALEM, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Six people were wounded on Friday in an Israeli attack on eastern Lebanon, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center at the Ministry of Public Health said in a statement.
An Israeli drone targeted Hosh al-Sayyid Ali in the Hermel district, injuring six, including five Syrians and one Lebanese national, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.
The developments came amid continued tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border despite a framework agreement signed between Lebanon and Israel in late June.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that it had struck a Syrian militant near the Syria-Lebanon border on Friday.
The statement did not specify whether the militant, identified as Yusuf Ali Al-Hassoun, was injured in the strike.
The Israeli military claimed that he had planned and advanced attacks against Israeli civilians and Israeli soldiers operating in southern Syria. ■
