ABU DHABI -- Attorney-General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hamad Saif Al Shamsi said Friday that investigations into the Sept. 30 incident aboard flydubai flight FZ1073 revealed that the co-pilot had attempted to carry out a suicide attack targeting the passenger terminal at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport outside Tel Aviv.
In a statement, Al Shamsi said the suspect, a 29-year-old Omani national, had planned to crash the aircraft into the terminal to cause as many casualties as possible. (UAE-Investigation-Flydubai)

ADEN, Yemen -- A loud explosion was heard near the international airport in Yemen's southern port city of Aden on Friday, a local security official and residents told Xinhua.

KHARTOUM -- At least 30 civilians were killed on Friday in a suicide drone attack targeting a shelter for internally displaced persons in the Wad Al Mahi locality in southeastern Sudan's Blue Nile region, according to official and human rights statements.

TEHRAN -- The navy of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced Friday that its forces had hit a "giant" ship carrying liquefied petroleum gas within the preceding hours as it sought to cross the Strait of Hormuz through the "illegal" route south of the waterway.
In a statement published on the IRGC's official news outlet Sepah News, the navy said following the strike, the vessel, identified as NV Sunshine, caught fire in its engine room and propulsion system. (Iran-IRGC-Tanker) ■
