KABUL, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Counter-narcotics police discovered 230 kg of opium-type illegal drugs and took a suspected smuggler into custody in Afghanistan's eastern Wardak province on Tuesday, according to a statement issued by the provincial police office on Wednesday.
The suspected smuggler had concealed the narcotics in the cavities of a vehicle and was attempting to transport them to southern Helmand province, the statement added.
No one will be allowed to produce or traffic illegal drugs, the statement said, warning that stern action would be taken against anyone who violates the law. ■
