ADEN, Yemen -- Yemeni government forces said Monday they had retaken the strategic Red Sea port city of Mocha in southwestern Taiz province from the Houthi group in what would reverse a major recent Houthi gain near the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
A military source was quoted by the state-run Saba news agency as saying that the Nation's Shield Forces, the pro-government Giants Brigades and the Tihama Resistance, backed by airstrikes, entered Mocha after fierce fighting on the city's outskirts. (Yemen-Mocha-Fighting)

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi Airways, the national carrier of Iraq, will resume direct flights to Iran starting Thursday, following recent regulatory exemptions, the Iraqi Transportation Ministry announced Monday.

KHARTOUM -- The civil authority of Tawila, North Darfur State in western Sudan, has called for stronger humanitarian assistance, as more than 6,000 displaced people flooded into the town since the beginning of September, with 1,394 in the past week.
In a statement, the authority, under the Sudan Liberation Movement, said on Monday that displaced families continue to arrive in search of safety despite difficult humanitarian conditions, calling for stronger humanitarian assistance, safe corridors for aid and protection of civilians.
