GAZA, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, while the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) said Gaza residents were paying the "heaviest price" of the conflict.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza's Civil Defense, told Xinhua that one Palestinian was killed in an Israeli strike near the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza City.
In a separate incident, a young man was killed and several others injured in an Israeli strike in central Gaza City, Basal said.
He added that another young man died of injuries sustained during Israeli shelling on Sunday in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Several other Palestinians were wounded by Israeli army gunfire across the enclave and taken to hospitals for treatment, according to medical sources.
Local sources said Israeli helicopters opened fire in Khan Yunis and Rafah, while Israeli military vehicles fired in the northern part of the enclave.
Gaza's health authorities said Tuesday that the death toll since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, reached 1,462. Since the Gaza conflict began on Oct. 7, 2023, 74,245 Palestinians have been killed, according to the authorities.
Munzer Al-Hayek, Fatah's spokesperson in Gaza, told Voice of Palestine radio on Tuesday that ordinary Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were "paying the heaviest price due to the war, the deprivation of water, and the ongoing blockade."
Al-Hayek accused Israel of seeking to establish a "security zone" and impose a new demographic reality by destroying areas in eastern Gaza and forcing residents to leave. ■
