ULAN BATOR, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- A total of 406 new breast cancer cases were diagnosed in Mongolia in 2025, bringing the total number of registered cases to 2,882, local media reported Tuesday, citing the Ministry of Health.
The ministry released the figures as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed annually in October to raise public awareness about early detection, risk factors and support for people affected by the disease.
Meanwhile, 515 women died from breast cancer in Mongolia over the past five years, according to the ministry.
Breast cancer ranks sixth among all cancers in Mongolia and fourth among cancers affecting women, according to the ministry.
The ministry urged women to understand the importance of breast cancer screening and encouraged them to undergo regular screening for early detection and treatment. ■
