GAZA/RAMALLAH, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, while another Palestinian died while being detained at an Israeli military checkpoint in the West Bank, according to Palestinian sources.

In the latest incident, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a gathering of Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, local sources said.

Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis said in a brief statement that the body of one person and several wounded people were brought to the facility following the strike.

In central Gaza, medical sources said one Palestinian was killed and nine others injured when an Israeli strike targeted a civilian vehicle south of Deir al-Balah. The casualties were taken to nearby hospitals.

Separately, a six-year-old girl died from wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli soldiers inside her displacement tent in the Wadi al-Salqa area, south of Deir al-Balah, according to medical sources.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said 45-year-old Raafat Abu Khalil, from the town of Attil, north of Tulkarm, died while being detained at the Anab military checkpoint east of Tulkarm.

According to a Red Crescent statement, its teams received a report of a critically wounded Palestinian at the checkpoint. They provided treatment and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation after his heart stopped, but he was later pronounced dead.

According to the latest figures released by health authorities in Gaza, 1,454 Palestinians have been killed and 5,090 others injured in the enclave since the ceasefire agreement took effect in October 2025.
