KIEV -- Ukraine received 2.9 billion euros (3.26 billion U.S. dollars) from the European Union (EU) as part of the funding to support the country's economic stability and reform efforts, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry said Friday.

The funding is aimed at supporting macroeconomic stability, financing priority budget expenditures, recovery and modernisation, as well as implementing reforms on the country's path towards EU membership, the ministry said in a statement. (Ukraine-EU-Support)
