ISLAMABAD, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces killed six militants in an intelligence-based operation in the Kachhi district of the country's southwestern Balochistan province on Thursday, security sources told Xinhua.
According to the sources, the operation was carried out in the Sanni area of the Kachhi district, where security forces used quadcopters to target militants belonging to a banned terrorist group.
Security sources said a large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants during the operation.
Pakistan has intensified intelligence-based counterterrorism operations in Balochistan following a recent surge in militant attacks across the province. ■
