ZAGREB, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Croatia's revenue from foreign tourists rose nearly 5 percent year on year to 4.59 billion euros (5.21 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half (H1) of 2026, according to data released Wednesday by the Croatian National Bank (HNB) and the Tourism and Sports Ministry.
Revenue in the second quarter alone reached 3.64 billion euros (4.12 billion dollars), up nearly 4 percent from the same period last year. Domestic tourism also grew strongly, with a record 1.5 million arrivals and 4.2 million overnight stays in the first six months, up 7 percent and 6 percent, respectively.
"Excellent results in the pre-season are the result of strong strategic and promotional activities that we adapted to changes in the market," Tourism and Sports Minister Tonci Glavina said in a statement.
He added that revenue from foreign tourists had increased by 120 percent compared with the first half of 2016.
Tourism is one of the main pillars of Croatia's economy, with the country attracting millions of foreign visitors each year. Croatia recorded more than 21.8 million tourist arrivals and 110.1 million overnight stays in 2025. ■
