CORDOBA, Argentina, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Argentina scored twice in each half en route to a 4-0 friendly win over Bolivia here on Wednesday.
Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring by controlling Alexis Mac Allister's pass and firing low past goalkeeper Guillermo Viscarra.
The hosts doubled the lead through Nico Paz, who chipped a deft finish over the onrushing Viscarra after Exequiel Palacios' through ball.
Cristian Romero headed in Argentina's third goal following Paz's delivery from a set piece, and substitute Jose Manuel Lopez completed the rout with a low first-time shot four minutes from time.
"The feeling is that the boys approached the match as they should," Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni told a post-match news conference. "Everyone wants to do their bit. You could see that the team has an identity, and those who play are going to give their all."
The match marked Argentina's first appearance since a 1-0 loss to Spain in the World Cup final in July. The team was without eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi, who announced his retirement from international football last month.
He will make his last appearance for the Albiceleste in a friendly against Benin in Buenos Aires on October 6. ■
