SINGAPORE, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's net asset position rose 5.2 percent quarter-on-quarter to 1.58 trillion Singapore dollars (1.24 trillion U.S. dollars) at the end of the second quarter of 2026, as growth in the country's overseas assets outpaced the increase in its external liabilities, its statistics department said on Wednesday.
Portfolio investment recorded the largest net asset position at 2.38 trillion Singapore dollars at the end of the second quarter, while other investments registered a net asset position of 148 billion Singapore dollars, the department said in a statement.
Singapore's reserve assets stood at 551 billion Singapore dollars.
In contrast, direct investment and financial derivatives registered net liability positions of 1.48 trillion Singapore dollars and 23 billion Singapore dollars, respectively. ■
