BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- A 5.5-magnitude earthquake hit the sea areas east of Taiwan at 1 p.m. on Wednesday (Beijing Time), according to a report from the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 23.77 degrees north latitude and 122.96 degrees east longitude. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km, the center said. ■
