JAKARTA -- Indonesian search and rescue teams on Monday recovered five more bodies from a ship that capsized and sank in the Java Sea off South Kalimantan province, bringing the death toll to 71, the National Search and Rescue Agency said.

NEW DELHI -- At least 81 people were killed and 62 others injured as heavy rains triggered flooding and widespread damage during the past three days in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, local media reported Monday.
"The death toll from incessant monsoon showers across Uttar Pradesh rose to 81 over three days, with 25 more fatalities reported on Sept. 27 after 56 deaths were recorded during Sept. 25 and 26," a local newspaper Times of India quoted Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod as having said. VIENTIANE -- At 8:00 a.m. local time on Monday, train C95 departed smoothly from Boten Station in Laos, marking the successful launch of intercity train service between Boten and the Lao capital Vientiane on the Lao section of the China-Laos Railway.
