ISLAMABAD, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan Navy's newly inducted submarine PNS/M Hangor has successfully carried out its maiden live weapon firing in the North Arabian Sea, accurately striking a designated long-range target with an anti-ship cruise missile, the military said on Sunday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military's media wing, said that the successful missile firing marked a major demonstration of the submarine's operational readiness and combat capability.
The successful test reflects the Pakistan Navy's commitment to maintaining a modern and combat-ready force capable of safeguarding the country's maritime frontiers and contributing to regional peace, the ISPR said. ■
