KATHMANDU, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from landslides and floods triggered by continuous rainfall has risen to 10 in Nepal, while four people remain missing, the Armed Police Force (APF) said on Sunday.
Four members of a single family were killed in a landslide in Baglung district, while two others died in separate landslide incidents in Palpa district, where three people remain missing. A landslide killed one person and left another missing in Myagdi district.
Meanwhile, three more people were killed after floodwaters swept away their houses in other districts.
At least 66 houses have been washed away by floods in Parbat district and six in Rupandehi district, while 10 other houses have been destroyed by landslides in several districts, APF spokesperson Netra Bahadur Karki told Xinhua.
"We are still collecting data on the losses. The loss figure is sure to rise," said Karki.
He said rescue and relief operations are continuing in the affected areas. ■
